What Are Lipotropic Injections?

In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that in 2017-2018, more than 42% of adults were obese, which is an increace of 12% since 1999-2000. There’s no reason to believe that increase has slowed in the years since.

There are lots of reasons people want to lose weight. Excess weight is associated with numerous chronic diseases, including heart disease, stroke, Type 2 diabetes, and even premature death. And, of course, there are cosmetic reasons too.

It’s important to feel good about how you look. Your self-confidence affects how you interact with the world. Whether we like it or not, appearance also impacts how others see us.

One of the reasons we offer medical weight-loss services at our office on the Upper East Side of New York City is that both Dr. Kevin Jovanovic and Dr. Radoslav Jovanovic understand the health implications of obesity. We want to help you live a life of optimal health, and maintaining an appropriate weight can help you do just that. Lipotropic injections may be an important part of your weight-loss efforts.

One tool in the box

When it comes to weight loss, there are more tools available than many people realize. Lipotropic injections aren’t designed to work alone. In other words, you can’t come to our office once a week for a shot, but continue to eat in the same way you always have.

Medical weight loss includes consuming a nutritious, balanced diet that puts you in a calorie deficit. Lipotropic injections alone, in fact, may not be safe. They need to be part of a larger weight-loss plan.

Along with changing your diet, your weight-loss plan may also include exercise. We can help you identify an exercise regimen that you enjoy, and that’s effective in helping you reach your goals. You don’t have to participate in intense exercise, but moving will help you lose weight.

What’s in a lipotropic injection?

Lipotropic injections are available at many med spas and weight-loss clinics, but here, they are administered by trained medical doctors. We use the Clean Start Weight Loss® Program, which includes injections. These injections help your body burn fat more efficiently.

In addition to helping your body burn fat, you’re likely to notice that you have more energy. That’s because most people are lacking in the vitamins contained in the injections. The hormone component of the injection helps to reset your metabolism.

Long term

If you’ve struggled to lose weight before, you probably know all about yo-yo dieting. You work hard and lose the pounds, only to find they return later, usually with some extra. Our program helps you develop a lifestyle that prevents that situation.

As we mentioned, lipotropic injections can help reset your body’s metabolism, but other parts of our program are important too. For example, we help you understand exactly what a balanced, nutritious diet looks like.

A guidebook, food journal, tip sheets, and cookbook are all included to help you get started, and since you’ll be in our office weekly for your injection, you have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance.

You can expect to lose weight and to keep it off with the Clean Start Weight Loss Program. If you’d like to learn more, schedule an appointment today. We’re happy to answer your questions.
